First Tail Surfaces Primed

 The weather cooperated to get the first few coats of primer on the tail surfaces.  I've only finished blasting the fin and both elevators.

I want the primer to adhere well to the surfaces.  I like epoxy primer but I don't think it bonds as well to bare steel as older primers nor does it provide the same rust protection.  I've put on 2 light coats of self etching primer.  By light I mean you can see that the tubes get wet with primer but you can still read the printing through the first coat.

When these have dried well I'll spray on the epoxy primer which will protect this primer from the solvents when applying the fabric covering.
